Well well well, after much anticipation the trailer for Black Panther is finally here and it looks brilliant!
With the success of recent films and series such as Get Out, Moonlight, Compton, Hidden Figures, Dear White People, Luke Cage etc. There has been a run of great work with black casts at the forefront. Furthermore, they have been proving themselves on a commercial level.
Black Panther is particularly exciting and here are some reasons why:
1) it’s Marvel and we all love a bit of Marvel
2) we got a glimpse of Black Panther in the last Avengers movie (after his father was killed) and it really built a thirst for more
3) the cast looks epic!! I mean just look at it
4) Africa is looking beautiful as ever!

I think the cinema turnout for this one is going to be strong. As long as the film lives up to the hype, which I really hope it does, the vibe should be truly special.
I remember how excited I got watching Luke Cage. To see a black marvel superhero was amazing. I mean there have been black superheroes in the past but this is different. This is especially true when you’ve grown up watching shows like The Hulk, Spiderman, Ironman and DC shows like Superman and Batman. It’s funny how much it meant to see that representation in film, but it does have a huge impact and I am happy to see more of it.
There is a long wait to go until Black Panther’s release in February 2018 however, I’ll be patiently waiting while the trailers feed my appetite until then.
