You are living your future today and it is up to you to decide if you are creating the future that you want. Your past can not make that decision for you. Our perspective of the past can be changed, but the past can not be altered, it is a fact. That fact however, does not create a future fact, you create that.
There have been several times in my past where I have entered a new moment because I refused to let my past define who I am. Whether that was getting a job that my past said I wasn’t worthy for, achieving a grade that my past said that I shouldn’t be able to achieve. Whatever the case, there have been moments where I have laughed at my past and created a new future.
I am sure that you have done the same on many occasions before, whether it was big or small.
No matter what has happened over the past month, year, decade, or even longer, you can make a change that alters your future.
I hear stories about women that have been abused and have turned their lives around such as Maya Angelou, Oprah Winfrey and J.K Rowling. A man locked in prison for a large amount of his life that learned to forgive and make a huge impact on the world, Nelson Mandela. There are countless stories such as this where people have overcome their past to create an amazing future.
