I Just Wrote A Letter To The Future

I just wrote a letter to the future…..

The future me that is. 

I found out about the idea of writing a letter to my future self from one of the books I read recently. I think it was Best Year Yet, but I am not too sure. Nevertheless, I thought it was an awesome idea to send myself some words for the future.

The letter I wrote was for a year ahead and I am looking forward to reading it when it arrives. Who knows, I might even forget that I wrote it!

So much can happen in a year, great success, failure, new lives being born, and lives being taken. I wanted to write this letter to remind myself where I was a year back and to encourage myself to keep going.

When we are so caught in the now we sometimes forget where we were. The things we overcame. The small steps.

Not everything will turn out how you want it to, but there will be victories along the way.

They say it’s all about the journey. What better way to recognise that than by reminding yourself of your travels. Speaking to the you that made it to the other side of that hill.

Right now I am even tempted to send myself a 5 and a 10 year letter too!

A wise man once said that we overestimate what we can achieve in a year and underestimate what we can achieve in 10 years.
