As an example, if you feel like you don’t have any clothes, but in reality you have loads of unwanted clothes filling up your wardrobe, get rid of them! Give the clothes to charity, family and friends. When you really don’t have any clothes in your closet, I bet that you will find a replacement as soon as you can.
When the only jeans that you wear rip, what do you do? Do you walk outside in your boxers and knickers? No, you go out and buy some new jeans. The same rule applies to other areas in your life.
There are various reasons why I love blogging:
-
It sharpens my tool set. If you really know something you should be able to share it with someone else and by doing that it increases your understanding
-
It’s a commitment. We all want to live a life of integrity. We want to be the person that we display or that we say we are. As a result, by sharing my personal development lessons, I am also committing to implementing those lessons in my own life
Another reason, is that by sharing what I know, it makes space for something new. As you grow and master one area, it creates the opportunity to develop in new areas.
The same thing goes for those that think they know everything, if you know everything, what else is there to learn? You need to empty your cup first in order to learn new things.
The great thing about children is that they are so curious, they are flexible and are not fixed on their ideas. This malleability allows them to take in new information at an extremely fast rate. They say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, but really, it just depends on their willingness to let go of what they already “know”.
